Position Overview:
The NPD Engineer plays a crucial role in our company’s product development process, from concept to launch. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automobile or automotive parts manufacturing, particularly in PRESS SHOP and WELD SHOP processed parts. They will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing projects, and ensuring the successful development and launch of new products. Key Responsibilities:
– Lead the new product development process from concept to launch, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
– Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new product concepts, considering factors such as material availability, manufacturing processes, and market demand.
– Generate detailed project plans, including milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation, and track progress against key performance indicators.
– Coordinate prototype development, testing, and validation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
– Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, negotiate pricing and lead times, and resolve any issues that may arise.
– Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance and support to ensure that products meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
– Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product design, manufacturing processes, and cost efficiency.
– Prepare and present project updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
– Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in new product development.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; master’s degree will be an advantage.
– 3-5 years of experience in automobile or automotive parts manufacturing, with a focus on PRESS SHOP and WELD SHOP processed parts.
– Strong technical knowledge of sheet metal forming, welding processes, and assembly techniques.
– Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools.
– Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from concept to launch.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
– Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO/TS 16949) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) methodologies.
– Familiarity with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is desirable.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
– Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, customer meetings, and industry events.

Working Conditions:
– 6 Days / 9 hours working (flexible as per work schedule). Sometimes may
be required to extend work hours based on urgencies only
