Role Overview:
The SolidWorks Designer plays a critical role in the design and development of components and assemblies using SolidWorks software. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in SolidWorks design, with a strong understanding of sheet metal design and weldments. They will be responsible for creating detailed drawings, models, and specifications for manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development:
– Use SolidWorks software to create 3D models and assemblies of components and parts.
– Design sheet metal parts and structures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
– Develop weldment designs for structural components, including frames, brackets, and supports.

2. Detailing and Documentation:
– Create detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing processes, including fabrication, machining, and assembly.
– Generate bill of materials (BOM) and part lists for production orders and inventory management.
– Ensure drawings and documentation adhere to company standards and industry regulations.

3. Collaboration and Communication:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and production staff, to develop design concepts and solutions.
– Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
– Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on SolidWorks design techniques and best practices.

4. Quality Assurance:
– Perform design reviews and analysis to verify accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability of designs.
– Conduct tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for parts and assemblies.
– Identify and resolve design issues and discrepancies to ensure product quality and performance.

5. Continuous Improvement:
– Stay updated on industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies related to SolidWorks design.
– Recommend and implement process improvements and efficiencies in design workflows.
– Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
– 1-2 years of experience in SolidWorks design, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
– Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication techniques.
– Proficiency in SolidWorks software, with experience in creating 3D models, assemblies, and drawings.
– Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, bevel protractors, and radius gauges.
– Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
