Position Overview:
The Costing Engineer is a vital member of our organization, playing a pivotal role in optimizing costs, enhancing efficiency, and driving profitability. With 3-5 years of experience in automobile or automotive parts manufacturing, particularly in PRESS SHOP and WELD SHOP processed parts, the ideal candidate will possess a keen analytical mind and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company’s success by ensuring competitive pricing and maximizing value across our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for new and existing products.
– Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor costs, overheads, and other factors to determine the cost of production for each product line.
– Work closely with the Engineering and Design teams to evaluate alternative materials, processes, and designs that can optimize costs without compromising quality or performance.
– Develop cost models and pricing strategies for new product introductions, taking into account market trends, competitor pricing, and customer requirements.
– Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior management, highlighting cost drivers, potential cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
– Monitor and analyze production variances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to align actual costs with budgeted costs.
– Support the procurement team in negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring favorable terms and pricing to minimize costs.
– Develop and maintain cost databases and standard costing systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency in cost data across all product lines.
– Provide insights and recommendations to management on cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and strategic investments.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
– 3-5 years of experience in cost engineering, cost estimating, or related roles within the automobile or automotive parts manufacturing industry.
– Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly PRESS SHOP and WELD SHOP processes, and their associated costs.
– Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, cost modeling, and financial analysis.
– Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
– Knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing software tools is desirable.
Working Conditions:
6 Days / 9 hours working (flexible as per work schedule). Sometimes may
require to extend work hours based on urgencies only.
