Role Overview:
The Purchase Manager plays a crucial role in managing the procurement process and supply chain activities for the company. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing industry. They will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing purchasing processes to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead procurement initiatives and contribute to the success and growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing:
– Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company’s operational and financial objectives.
– Identify potential suppliers and conduct supplier evaluations to assess capabilities, reliability, and performance.
– Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and terms.

2. Vendor Management:
– Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and partnership.
– Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual agreements, addressing any issues or concerns as needed.
– Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure quality and reliability of products and services.

3. Inventory Management:
– Forecast demand and inventory requirements based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and customer orders.
– Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, while maximizing inventory turnover and cash flow.
– Implement inventory control measures and systems to track, monitor, and manage inventory levels effectively.

4. Purchasing Operations:
– Oversee the day-to-day procurement activities, including purchase order processing, expediting, and delivery coordination.
– Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all purchasing transactions.
– Streamline purchasing processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

5. Cost Management:
– Monitor and analyze purchasing costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and value optimization.
– Implement cost reduction initiatives, such as vendor consolidation, negotiation of volume discounts, and alternative sourcing strategies.
– Evaluate the total cost of ownership for goods and services, considering factors such as price, quality, lead times, and supplier reliability.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
– Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and finance, to align procurement activities with business objectives.
– Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support new product development, process improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
– 3-8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
– Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and value optimization.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
– Proficiency in procurement software and systems, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and e-procurement platforms.
– Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
– Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Knowledge of earth-moving machinery parts and the automotive industry is preferred.
