Role Overview:
The BUMS Doctor plays a pivotal role in providing healthcare services, diagnosing ailments, prescribing treatments, and offering preventive care strategies to patients. With 3-5 years of experience in Unani medicine, the ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, empathy, and a dedication to patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Consultation and Assessment:
– Conduct thorough consultations with patients, gathering detailed medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating symptoms to diagnose medical conditions accurately.
– Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and specialized procedures, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment planning for patients’ health conditions.
– Provide personalized medical advice, counseling, and education to patients on preventive healthcare measures, lifestyle modifications, and treatment options based on Unani principles.

2. Treatment Planning and Management:
– Prescribe Unani medicines, herbal remedies, dietary supplements, and therapeutic interventions to address patients’ health concerns, alleviate symptoms, and promote holistic healing and wellness.
– Monitor patients’ progress and response to treatment, adjusting medication dosages, treatment regimens, and lifestyle recommendations as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes and facilitate recovery.
– Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including allopathic physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals, to develop comprehensive treatment plans and coordinate patient care effectively.

3. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention:
– Educate patients and their families about preventive healthcare practices, including dietary modifications, lifestyle adjustments, stress management techniques, and wellness strategies to enhance overall health and prevent disease.
– Conduct community outreach programs, health education workshops, and wellness seminars to raise awareness about Unani medicine, traditional healing modalities, and holistic approaches to health and well-being.
– Participate in public health initiatives, disease surveillance activities, and health promotion campaigns aimed at addressing prevalent health issues and improving population health outcomes.

4. Documentation and Compliance:
– Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation in compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and professional ethics.
– Ensure confidentiality, privacy, and security of patient information, adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines in the handling and storage of medical records and personal health information.

Qualifications and Skills:

– Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree from a recognized institution.
– Valid registration with the State Unani Medical Board or Council.
– 3-5 years of clinical experience as a practicing BUMS Doctor, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
– Proficiency in Unani diagnosis, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions, with a deep understanding of Unani principles and practices.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
– Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
– Commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and evidence-based practice in Unani medicine.
